KAMARA AND THE SUN GODDESS is a new original audio adventure serial featuring ADRIAN BOOTH who is well-known to serial fans from her appearances in CAPTAIN AMERICA, DAUGHTER OF DON Q and NYOKA AND THE TIGERMEN, RICK DEACON who has performed in many previous Squadron productions and the beautiful MIA GREENE who will make her debut in this adventure.
It is based on the sort of classic material familiar to classic serial fans but takes place in the Africa of today where real people are fighting real problems like those depicted in this story (please take a moment to watch the video below to see how you can be a real-life serial hero and help put a stop to some of them).
Savage girl Kamara, granddaughter of a young couple of former adventurers who ran a hospital in Liberia and orphaned as a child then raised in a remote jungle region far from civilization, with the help of her friend Captain "Safari" Steve Reynolds of the U. N. Peacekeeping Force, his friend Friday, her mentor Papa Ben and trained hawk Isati, fights to defend innocent children, including Friday's young son, from enslavement by local warlords and diamond smugglers. The crooks, led by syndicate kingpin King Cobra share a rivalry with renegade Tuareg chieftain Juba and his "pagan army" who raids Kamara's Secret City. Kamara's quest for revenge is jam-packed with wild Republic serial-style cliffhanging action and leads to the search for a mystery mummy, a raven-haired girl with a deadly power of transformation and the apparent earthly incarnation of the Egyptian sun goddess Sekhmet, who demands blood sacrifice in order to revive an evil Pharaoh's ghost and gain the secret of immortality.
This is not a "retro" production re-using already-existing material but is instead an entirely new, original story being approached with the question in mind "What if Republic Pictures still existed and decided to make a new serial today, and give it a realistic, topical setting?"
Cast members include Adrian Booth, Rick Deacon, and three stunningly beautiful younger actresses who will be visible in the accompanying "Adventure Book" and (probably) a new video trailer.
This set will also include extras including a recording of Adrian Booth's reminiscences of her days shooting classic cliffhangers at Republic Pictures. A not-to-be missed special serial event!
